FREEMOTION EMBROIDERY WORK BY KEN SMITH OF AUSTRALIA.
Ken's vests are made from his own original pattern.  Click on each picture to see a larger image.

The CUVEST is the cubist-inspired vest
done for last year's "Art to Wear" exhibition in Sydney.  As it's "wearable
art", I made the three parts separately lined and attached by jeans
studs - so that it can be worn or displayed flat on the wall singly or in any combination.
It's fabric collage under nylon organza.

The cgvest is a unisex vest, again in fabric collage under nylon organza,
with FME. It's called "The Three Cubist Graces: Angularity, Flatness and
Distortion). This time, the fabric collage included areas of reverse appliqué.

The DECUVEST is a crossover vest in which the buttons form the pupils of the
eyes. Fabric collage under polyester chiffon.

The decvstbk shows the back yoke.

Madonna2 is one of the latest pieces and features in one of the outfits for
this year's "Art to Wear". It's 4.25" wide and 5.5" long. FME on gold lamé
under gold nylon organza.

NEPTUNE is one of my character cloth dolls. He's approx 23" tall and is mine
from the patterns on. His outfit features hand-painted silk (including silk
georgette over gold lamé), FME (and twin-needling), fine rouleau, and hand
beading.
